Smile Direct Club Timeline
February 5th, 2018 - First Smile Shop appointment for teeth impressions @ Brooklyn location.
February 12th, 2018 - My smile is ready email! Link to a 3D rendering of my aligner journey.
May 16th, 2018 - Second Smile Shop appointment for teeth impressions @ Midtown Manhattan location.
May 17th, 2018 - My slightly altered teeth rendering email has arrived!
May 19th, 2018 - I paid a single payment* for the aligners. From here, it will take about 4-5 weeks for me to receive my aligners. (Expected arrival date June 16th - June 23rd)
May 31st, 2018 - Email update: "We are cookin' up your smile!"
June 7th, 2018 - Email update: "We paid attention in science class." They are molding my aligners now.
June 14th, 2018 - Email update: "Your smile is getting a haircut." They are trimming my aligners.
June 15th, 2018 - Email update: "Your aligners are on the way!" They sent me a FedEx tracking number.
June 19th, 2018 - The ETA was 06/20 but after checking the tracking number, I saw that it was delivered today. So tonight will be my first day!
June 20st, 2018 - Personal update: My teeth are sore 😞I forgot how it felt when I used to have braces - I could only consume soup today. After talking to my cousin about it, I think the fact that SDC has such a short timeline that means that the correction process is also aggressive so that attributes a bit to the soreness.
June 21st, 2018 - Personal update: The soreness went down quickly, I was able to chew but I would still stay away from hard foods like... french baguettes. I've also been keeping them on for as long as possible (less snacking and tea throughout the day to keep my aligners in longer) which I think helped get all the soreness out of the way quicker. (I probably won't update each day like I have been, unless it's something important).
