February 5th, 2018 - First Smile Shop appointment for teeth impressions @ Brooklyn location.
February 12th, 2018 - My smile is ready email! Link to a 3D rendering of my aligner journey.
May 16th, 2018 - Second Smile Shop appointment for teeth impressions @ Midtown Manhattan location.
May 17th, 2018 - My slightly altered teeth rendering email has arrived!

May 19th, 2018 - I paid a single payment* for the aligners. From here, it will take about 4-5 weeks for me to receive my aligners. (Expected arrival date June 16th - June 23rd)
May 31st, 2018 - Email update: "We are cookin' up your smile!"
June 7th, 2018 - Email update: "We paid attention in science class." They are molding my aligners now.
June 14th, 2018 - Email update: "Your smile is getting a haircut." They are trimming my aligners.
June 15th, 2018 - Email update: "Your aligners are on the way!" They sent me a FedEx tracking number.
June 19th, 2018 - The ETA was 06/20 but after checking the tracking number, I saw that it was delivered today. So tonight will be my first day!
June 20st, 2018 - Personal update: My teeth are sore 😞I forgot how it felt when I used to have braces - I could only consume soup today. After talking to my cousin about it, I think the fact that SDC has such a short timeline that means that the correction process is also aggressive so that attributes a bit to the soreness.
June 21st, 2018 - Personal update: The soreness went down quickly, I was able to chew but I would still stay away from hard foods like... french baguettes. I've also been keeping them on for as long as possible (less snacking and tea throughout the day to keep my aligners in longer) which I think helped get all the soreness out of the way quicker.
Since I have gotten my aligners now, the timeline will be a little more spaced out since I'm following a regimented schedule (1-1-2, if you want more detail on this, click here.) Further updates will probably be any differences in experience (mid-course corrections) or any visual differences I see.
September 6th, 2018 - Personal update: Had one of the biggest scares. Thought I had a cavity and scheduled a dental check up. Found out it wasn’t a cavity but just plaque buildup. Still, yikes.
September 19th, 2018 - Personal update: HOLY SMOKES! My teeth moved drastically, especially my bottom teeth which had some severe crowding! At the same time, I was petrified when I saw some video of a woman who used SDC that didn’t know she had gum disease so her teeth were very loose. yikes. Make sure to get some check ups on your teeth if you feel like anything is wrong!
December 4th, 2018 - Personal update: My aligners at one point weren’t fitting my teeth anymore and at first I thought it was just because they need to move into it. You’ll grow into them. But I was on my last tray and my overcrowding was just still kinda stuck and my teeth just hurt. I contacted SDC and scheduled a scanning to get my realignment retainers.
December 6th, 2018 - Personal update: Got scanned and now we wait (apparently some people are not approved for realignment retainers which, if I’m honest, gave me a scare).
December 6th, 2018 - 10:03pm Email update: I was approved for realignment! Keep in mind, this email does not look like the other emails from SDC. It’s just a short email from the dental team letting you know that you’ve been approved and to keep your latest retainers on until the new ones arrive.
December 25th, 2018 - Email update: “Welcome to the grin life” This marks the start of my 3 month (realignment) journey.
